On Sunday, May 21, 2006, the Times Union presented their 2006 Report Card
on the schools. On pages S8 and S9 all public high schools (grades 9 - 12) in Albany,
Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington
counties were listed. Twenty-five categories of information, provided by the State
Education Department for the 2004-05 school year, were listed for each school.
Working with Sr. Monica Murphy, Director of Guidance, and Dr. Mark Stephens,
Curriculum Coordinator, we were able to develop information in 16 of the 25 categories
for CCHS.We have developed a chart below listing 14 area high schools and their
information, state information, as well as information for CCHS. Based on a comparison
of the information listed for the 14 area high schools and CCHS, the following ranks
can be determined for CCHS:
1st English Passing, Math Passing, Global Passing, U.S. History Passing,
Science Passing, Science 85% - 100%, Graduation in Four(4) Years,
Per Pupil Cost
2nd English 85% - 100%, Percent Regents Diploma (tied)
