Grading / Class Rank

Class rank is determined by adding the cumulative totals of all grades and dividing by the total credits.  These cumulative totals are arrived at by using the final average in each subject, multiplying by the quality weight* and dividing by total credits.  College courses taken outside Catholic High will not be included in ranking/average, but will appear on the transcript.

          *Quality weight:

          Level 3 -  University at the High School—1.16

          Level 2 -  Honors Courses—1.08

          Level 1 -  Regents Level Courses—1.00

Class rank is weighted at the end of junior year and after third quarter of senior year.  A weighted and un-weighted average will appear on the transcript.

A numeric grading system is used on the report card.

                    A = 90 - 100     B= 80 - 89

                    C = 70 - 79      D= 65 - 69
