1963 CCHS Graduate, Kathleen Grimm, Feted at NY City Gala

 

Albany, NYTroy native and Catholic Central High School grad Kathleen Grimm was an honoree at a New York City gala in December that raised over $700,000 for New York Law School.

Grimm has been the Deputy Chancellor of Education for Finance and Administration for New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg since August of 2002. New York Law School Dean Richard Matasar called Grimm “an extraordinary public servant who has fostered the highest level of integrity and professionalism.” NY City Education Chancellor Joel Klein called Grimm a “stalwart member of the Bloomberg administration.”

The NYC Department of Education has a $17 billion operating budget and educates 1.1 million children.

Grimm is a 1980 graduate of New York Law School. Her father, Fred, was president of the Troy School Board in the 1960’s. Her brother, Peter, is a Rensselaer County legislator representing Troy, and her brother, Mark, is a Guilderland Town Board member.

Prominent NY City attorney Steven Pegalis and Oracle Corporation President Charles Phillips were also honored at the dinner.
