COVID Case Letter
Dear Members of the CCHS Community,
The administration was notified this morning, October 11, 2020, that another member of the Catholic Central High School community has tested positive for COVID-19.
As it states in our reopening plan, the administration is working closely with the Rensselaer County Department of Health to identify this individual’s contacts within and outside the school community for tracing purposes. Anyone identified as potentially having prolonged, direct contact (less than 6 ft apart for 10 minutes) will be contacted directly by the Rensselaer County Department of Health with information regarding quarantine and/or to arrange for testing. If you are not contacted, the department has determined that the risk for exposure is low.
Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws do not allow the school to disclose or confirm any personally identifiable information regarding anyone who has tested positive.
The entire school building is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected each evening as scheduled per our enhanced cleaning protocol in accordance with guidance from the New York State Department of Health and the CDC.
At this time, under guidance from the Health Department, the school plans to remain open for in-person instruction. Given that we have another case, if you are not comfortable sending your child back to school, our remote instructional model is available. We will continue to keep the community informed of any changes if the need arises. The school will also continue to work closely with the Rensselaer County Department of Health and follow their guidance on maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment for our students, faculty members, and families.
Our prayers are with you and your family for continued health and safety.
